The reportege refers to a pilot project in which HE3DA batteries have been used and tested for almost 5 years. No better place could be found for battery testing than the desert near Gerlach, Nevada. The batteries' ability to perform in an inhospitable environment is tested by a site where temperatures range from very high temperatures during the day to very low below freezing at night, and where fine sand and alkaline salts are also present everywhere.
